Story of Qaiser Din : An amputee

In 1999, Qaiser was working in his fields at North Kashmir frontier area Seemari Tangdar, KUpwara. Suddenly his foot landed on a landmine laid by Indian army. He was thrown several feet in the air. He's rushed to army hospital. Qaiser narrates " Army brought me to Pune Hospital where my leg was amputated from ankle. An artificial prosthesis was also provided to me . When i returned from there, the limb was very uncomfortable and didnt fit properly. I had to move on crutches to move from one place to another as the area is quite hilly , it was very difficult to traverse. Then one day when i went to Kupwara for some personal work, a friend of mine who already was an amputee like me didnt look like he'd lost any limb and was walking quite normally. Then he referred me to Voluntary Medicare Society. In here i met Mr. Pervaiz Bhat who fabricated my prosthesis and using which i could tread the hilly rough terrain quite easily. After many years i again got my prosthesis renewed this time from Mr. Pervaiz Bagdadi." Due to his long and odd residual stump condition his case was complicated , as no prosthetic kit could fit into his leg.
