Skill Development Unit

In November 2022, VMS established a skill development unit in collaboration with Mann_Karmann , where individuals with disabilities, including those with physical, autism and intellectual disabilities, are given the opportunity to work and earn a livelihood. This initiative began at a time when society often failed to recognize the potential of disabled individuals due to their unique behaviors and physical limitations. However, VMS, took it upon itself to research and implement ways to help these PWD’s integrate into the workforce and become independent.

Over time, we've successfully trained and supported around 30 disabled individuals, enabling them to start working on machines. This achievement not only fosters financial independence but also boosts their confidence in various aspects of their life. This unit is a shining example of how, despite facing significant challenges, there is hope for everyone. It highlights the importance of finding innovative ways to empower and include individuals with disabilities, ultimately showcasing their brilliance in areas where they might not have initially been given the chance to excel. In our skill development unit,We make the items for which we receive the order, we provide training to Persons with Disabilities (PWD) in a wide range of skills, including tailoring, designing, handwork, and embroidery. Our team consists of a coordinator, a master trainer, four experienced tailors who were trained within our program, two dedicated helpers, and 17 specially-abled students serving as interns.

These interns are gaining valuable hands-on experience while learning new skills every day. Moreover, they play a pivotal role in guiding and mentoring the trainees who are part of our program. Our collective effort ensures that not only do we train PWDs in valuable skills, but we also foster an environment where continuous learning and growth are encouraged. This, in turn, promotes their independence and self-confidence, allowing them to contribute to society in meaningful ways.
