1. Medifest Health Screening Camp for Special Athletes Organized by VMS in Collaboration with Special Olympics Bharat June 10th to June 12th 2024

Medifest Health Screening Camp for Special Athletes, organized by VMS in collaboration with Special Olympics Bharat (SOB)! Over 450 athletes participated in 4 districts of JK UT & Ladakh UT, marking a significant step towards promoting health and well-being among athletes with special needs.
Graced by esteemed dignitaries like Mr. Lalit K Sharma, CEO of SOB, Mr. Iqbal Lone, Disability Commissioner j&k, and the president and management of VMS, the event emphasized the importance of inclusive healthcare.
Th experienced medical team conducted comprehensive health screenings, ensuring personalized attention for each athlete. This initiative highlights the need for continuous health monitoring and support for special athletes.
 

2.  3-Day Breast Screening Cancer Detection and Awareness Camp

Srinagar, June 1, 2024 – The three-day Breast Screening and Awareness Camp, organized by the Voluntary Medicare Society in collaboration with EnAble India Bangalore and the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, concluded successfully today. The camp, held at various locations including SDH Kupwara, SDH Sopore, Gousia Hospital Khanyar Srinagar, and the Voluntary Medicare Society Bemina, saw a significant turnout with over 100 screenings conducted. A few CA breast suspected cases were found and were informed to visit their doctor for checkups.
The camp aimed to raise awareness about breast cancer and provide early detection services to the community. Qualified professionals carried out screenings and provided educational sessions on breast health, emphasizing the importance of regular check-ups and early diagnosis.
"We are delighted with the community's response to this initiative. Early detection of breast cancer significantly increases the chances of successful treatment, and our goal is to make these crucial health services accessible to all," said a representative from the Voluntary Medicare Society.
EnAble India Bangalore and the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir played pivotal roles in the camp's success by providing the necessary resources and support. Their collaboration ensured that the screenings were thorough and that educational materials were widely distributed.

3. Pediatric parent sensitization workshop
VMS hosted another pediatric parent sensitization workshop at District Training Centre, UPHC Baramulla. Doctors, parents, beneficiaries, and staff gathered to learn about rehabilitation services, dispel myths about disabilities, and support children aged 0-18. Dr. Bashir, Director VMS shared insights on VMS services,while participants pledged collaboration for children's well-being. Distribution of aids and appliances marked a tangible impact. 
 
 
4. Paediatric parent sensitisation workshop at TRC Kupwara.
On March 25, 2024, VMS Sub Centre Kupwara hosted a Paediatric parent sensitisation workshop at TRC Kupwara.
Attended by paediatricians, medical officers, and parents, the workshop aimed to educate attendees about rehabilitation services offered by VMS and the Sub Centre Kupwara, while dispelling myths about disabilities.
The Director of VMS elucidated the services available, garnering appreciation from participants. Various aids and appliances, such as hearing aids, corner chairs, and CP chairs, were distributed to beneficiaries in need. This event underscores the commitment of VMS to enhancing community welfare and addressing the needs of individuals with disabilities.
 
 
5. Paediatric Parent Sensitisation Workshop at the SNM Conference Hall  , Leh
VMS Sub Centre Leh recently hosted a Paediatric Parent Sensitisation Workshop at the SNM Conference Hall, attended by over 30 participants, including paediatricians, medical officers, parents, and religious leaders. The workshop aimed to educate attendees about VMS's rehabilitation services and dispel myths surrounding disabilities. Discussions emphasized the crucial roles of parents and doctors in early intervention, with doctors highlighting the significant impact of VMS's sub-centre in providing rehabilitation services for children with disabilities.
 
 
6. Speech and Hearing Camp in Kupwara
Our recent Speech and Hearing Camp in Kupwara, conducted in collaboration with J&K Bank, was a resounding success! ???? With expert guidance from Dr. Umeek, our dedicated team provided vital evaluations and consultations, helping over 80 patients identify and address speech and hearing impairments. More than 40 individuals received hearing aids, paving the way for a better quality of life. ???? We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all involved, reaffirming our commitment to delivering essential healthcare services and fostering a healthier, more inclusive society.
Special thanks to Dr. Kasir Mohiuddin Senior scientist and head KVK, Director Extension skuast Prof Dr Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi and VC SKUAST-K Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganie for their unwavering support.
 
7. Speech and Hearing Camp in Shopian
Our Speech and Hearing Camp in Shopian, in collaboration with @JandKBank and District Hospital Shopian, has been a huge success! Under the guidance of Dr. Umeek, we provided vital assistance to over 350 patients, distributing 80 hearing aids. The camp was inaugurated by Medical Superintendent Dr . Rubeena from District Hospital Shopian. VMS is highly grateful to CMO shopian Dr Arshid Ahmad Tak for the support and cooperation.
 
8. Speech and Hearing Camp at KP Road Anantnag
Voluntary Medicare Society conducted a Speech and Hearing Camp today at KP Road Anantnag, marking a significant milestone in delivering essential healthcare services to the community.
Under the expert guidance of Dr. Umeek, a distinguished Senior Consultant, the camp witnessed over more then 90 ENT patients benefiting from evaluations and consultations.
81 patients received personalized assessments and were provided with hearing aids. This initiative, aimed at enhancing the quality of life for individuals facing hearing challenges, showcases the dedication of VMS in delivering support and solutions to those in need.
 
 
 
9. Community Awareness session in Kupwara and Kargil
The Voluntary Medicare Society(VMS ) Sub Centres in Kupwara and Kargil organized impactful Community Awareness sessions . The Sub centre kupwara organized the session at Dedikoot, Kupwara, witnessed the participation of 13 individuals, while in Village Shargole, Kargil, the awareness camp garnered attention from key figures like the numberdar, sarpanch, panchs, and around 30 villagers.
The primary objective of both awareness sessions was to enlighten attendees about the available rehabilitation services for children with disabilities and to promote sensitization on disabilities. The enthusiastic response and appreciation from the participants in both locations reflect the success of these awareness initiatives.
 
10. Speech and Hearing Intervention Assessment Camp at GMC Baramullah.
A significant Speech and Hearing Intervention Assessment Camp, organized by Voluntary Medicare Society in collaboration with GMC BARAMULLA and J&K Bank.The camp, held in the auditorium of GMC Baramulla, aimed to address the speech and hearing needs of the local community, providing timely intervention and support.
The camp, which marked the third in a series after successful events in Srinagar and Kulgam, was a testament to the commitment of the medical community and corporate entities like J&K Bank towards improving healthcare accessibility in the region.
A total of 60 patients underwent comprehensive screening during the camp, with 45 individuals identified as needing immediate and were given on-the-spot hearing aids which showcased the efficiency and effectiveness of the intervention program.
The camp featured the expertise of Dr. Umeeq Jeelani, an ENT specialist, who diligently examined the patients and recommended necessary interventions.
Dr. Parvaz Ahmad Masoodi, Medical Superintendent GMC BARAMULLA, Dr. Zaffer, Associate Professor at GMC Baramulla, Ms. Tanveer Kour, Social Welfare Officer, and Ms. Mehjabeen Nabi, a prominent social activist, played pivotal roles in ensuring the success of the camp, providing support and guidance to the attendees.Sheikh Muzaffar, Cluster Head Baramulla at J&K Bank, also attended the camp.
 
11. Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) training in Kulgam
Empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) for a sustainable livelihood, an Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) training was inaugurated today in Kulgam. The inaugural ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of Mr. Khurshid Ahmad, Director of Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), and Mr. Ishfaq Ahmad, Superintendent of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Kulgam, along with other distinguished guests. The event was graced by the members of the influencer committee, including Mr. Bilal Ah Beigh, Mr. Nazir Ah Sheikh, Mr.Shabir Ahmad, Mr.Nazir Ahmad, Prof Farooq Ahmad, and Mr. Ajaz Ahmad.
A significant step towards inclusivity by Voluntary Medicare Society, the ceremony marked the registration of 30 PWDs, signaling a commitment to providing them with essential skills for economic independence. This initiative strives to create a more accessible and inclusive environment, fostering opportunities for personal and professional growth among the differently-abled community.
 
 
12. Speech and Hearing Camp in Kulgam
Voluntary Medicare Society’s Speech and Hearing Camp in Kulgam a Success, Providing Vital Assistance to Over 60 Patients
Kulgam, 23rd December 2023— The Voluntary Medicare Society conducted a highly impactful Speech and Hearing Camp at the Mini Secretariat Kulgam, marking a significant milestone in delivering essential healthcare services to the community. The event was graced by esteemed guests, including the Additional Development Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Kulgam, Mr. Muzaffar Khurshid (Zonal Head, Anantnag Jammu & Kashmir Bank), and various other dignitaries, showcasing a collective commitment to addressing healthcare needs.
Under the expert guidance of Dr. Umeek, a distinguished Senior Consultant, the camp witnessed over 60 ENT patients benefiting from comprehensive evaluations and consultations. 60 patients received personalized assessments and were provided with hearing aids. 13. Free spine consultation camp at VMS
In a bid to promote spinal health and community well-being, a free spine consultation camp was organized today at VMS. The camp, spearheaded by the renowned specialist, Dr. Hamza Sheikh from Manipal Hospital New Delhi, aimed to provide expert advice and support to individuals facing spinal concerns.
Dr. Hamza Sheikh, with his extensive experience in spinal care, led the camp, offering valuable insights and recommendations to attendees. The event witnessed a significant turnout, with more than 25 individuals seeking guidance for spinal issues.
 
14. Transformative Hearing and Speech Assessment Camp

In a heartening collaboration aimed at advancing healthcare accessibility, Voluntary Medicare Society and J&K Bank orchestrated a transformative Hearing and Speech Assessment Camp at the society's head office on November 30, 2023.Distinguished guests, including J&K Bank CSR Team, graced the occasion, underscoring the importance of collective efforts in addressing crucial health needs. The event's focal point was the comprehensive assessment of over 40 deserving beneficiaries.The camp went beyond assessment, striving to bridge gaps in auditory health by providing essential hearing aids to those identified as in need.
 
15. Mega EYE CARE SCREENING CUM AWARENESS at VMS
A Mega EYE CARE SCREENING CUM AWARENESS camp was organized today in the premises of VMS by KASHMIR EYE HOSPITALS in collaboration with VMS and AL IMDAAD TRUST. facilitated in a special mobile eye care van “VISION ON WHEELS”.
The camp saw a footfall of more than 100 patients who availed different eye care services.
