Junaid hails from Gushi area of North Kashmir district Kupwara. He became ill , doctores diagnosed him with some neurological complications due to which his right side became very weak, so weak that he couldnt even walk, eat and do his daily chores... . Initially he developed fever and he was prescribed some medicines from SKIMS JVC hospital. The doctors told them that it was a normal urine infection, so they prescribed medicines again for 10 days. But only after 5 days he had a major seizure attack and left side got paralyzed , he lost vision , consiousness and 2 persons were required to move him from one place to other. Then one day community worker from VMS Kupwara visited his house and referred him to VMS subcentre Kupwara. Treatment therapeutic intervention was provided free of cost there. Mr. Shahbaz along with other professionals worked very hard to improve his conditiion. After one month he left elbow crutch and could walk independently, could perform his daily chores independently. Due to his slurred speech , speech therapy sessions were also provided. After 6 months , Junaid is now able to go for his therapy sessions to VMS centre which is 5 kms away from his home, go to tution centre, and attend classses at his school.
