SKUAST-K’s “Wheels to Wings” Initiative: Empowering Youth with Disabilities
Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir in collaboration with the Voluntary Medicare Society, has launched a University Social Responsibility (USR) initiative titled “Wheels to Wings.”
This initiative focuses on skilling and empowering youth with disabilities, providing them with exposure to inclusive learning and entrepreneurial opportunities on campus.
As part of the program, participants explored the Chrysanthemum Garden, an innovative project developed by SKUAST-K, and toured the SKUAST-K Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship Centre (SKIIE).
The visit offered hands-on learning in horticultural practices, nursery management, adaptive techniques, and entrepreneurship supported by SKUAST-K’s thriving incubation ecosystem.
The university reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive education, skills development, and livelihood opportunities that enable every learner to participate meaningfully in campus life and contribute to the local economy.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, interacted with the young champions, inspiring them to become leaders and changemakers of Jammu & Kashmir.
