Conclusion of the 3-Day Breast Screening Cancer Detection and Awareness Camp
Srinagar, June 1, 2024 – The three-day Breast Screening and Awareness Camp, organized by the Voluntary Medicare Society in collaboration with EnAble India Bangalore and the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, concluded successfully today. The camp, held at various locations including SDH Kupwara, SDH Sopore, Gousia Hospital Khanyar Srinagar, and the Voluntary Medicare Society Bemina, saw a significant turnout with over 100 screenings conducted. A few CA breast suspected cases were found and were informed to visit their doctor for checkups.
The camp aimed to raise awareness about breast cancer and provide early detection services to the community. Qualified professionals carried out screenings and provided educational sessions on breast health, emphasizing the importance of regular check-ups and early diagnosis.
"We are delighted with the community's response to this initiative. Early detection of breast cancer significantly increases the chances of successful treatment, and our goal is to make these crucial health services accessible to all," said a representative from the Voluntary Medicare Society.
