The Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS), in collaboration with the SAWAB Centre, proudly hosted a CME on “Access to Mental Health Care Services in the Community” at the VMS Auditorium, Srinagar, marking 10 years of community mental health initiatives in Ganderbal.
The conference was inaugurated by Prof. Fazul Qadir Parrey, Principal SKIMS Medical College (Chief Guest), and addressed by eminent dignitaries:
? Dr. Anjum Afshan, Deputy Director Health Services Kashmir
? Prof. Ashok Malla, Douglas Hospital Research Centre, McGill University, Canada
? Prof. Dr. Arshid Hussain, Senior Psychiatrist, IMHANS-Kashmir
And many more renowed dignitaries including Prof. Dr Zaid, Dr Majid Shafi, Dr. Abdul Majid Ganai, Er. Mushtaq Ahmad Malik Secretary VMS and Dr Suhail Maqbool Treasurer VMS
The closing remarks were delivered by Prof. Mushtaq A. Margoob, Director SAWAB, who acknowledged the relentless support of volunteers, collaborators, and partners.
The event was graced by international experts, mental health advocates, and the management of VMS, alongside distinguished psychiatrists from GMC Srinagar, SKIMS, MSF, and Chinar International.
Together, we reaffirmed our commitment to making mental health accessible, affordable, and stigma-free for all.
