“In the year 1995 the VMS founded a special school for rehabilitation of children challenged with metal, orthpaedic, speech and hearing problems it coincided with signing of United nations declaration of the Rights of the disabled persons 1995. It started functioning from the year 2000. Currently there are 57 special students enrolled in this school. VMS is running this school to provide comprehensive and continuing Rehabilitation to children by therapy, training, exercise, interaction and education. Such children, are admitted in the school after proper medical checkup with full assessment of type and degree of disability. It has specialized staff of physios, therapists, nurses, special educators supported by administrative and ministerial manpower, the special school building is located in serene surroundings with vast ground are around. It is a single story building with spacious rooms, centrally heated and well ventilated. “

Shafaqat Inclusive School
Those children who have borderline IQ or mild mental retardation are enrolled for Inclusive Education, for taking formal education along with special needs depending upon individuals’ requirements. The School is registered with J&K Govt. Up to class 8th, Shafaqat Inclusive School is the first school of its kind in the whole state which started in the year 1995. The present roll of children in the School is 55. This School has almost all the latest gadgets used for imparting Education besides allied therapies.
